Join International Friendships for a hiking event at Turkey Run State Park in Marshall, Indiana, on Saturday, November 1st. This is one of the most beautiful parks in the area and fall is a great time to experience it! A picnic lunch will be provided by IFI, near the Middle Shelter, before we hike and the lunch will include some vegetarian options. IFI will provide transportation. You can drive your own car if you wish, but please stay with our caravan of IFI vehicles to easily find the picnic site. Cell phones do not always work in certain areas of the park. Sign up only if you are positive that you will attend because your food and transportation fee is figured into the event’s total planned costs.

The cost of this trip is $10 per person. Children up to age 12 are $5. Payment is in exact cash only on the day of the trip (no credit or debit cards or digital payment). We will email you with the transportation details a day or two before the trip. If you are driving your own car, we need to know that when you sign up. A $20 credit per car will be given to cover gas and park entry for those driving their own vehicle. Your friends must each sign up for the event themselves on IFI’s website at uiuc.ifiusa.org

Dress according to the weather report for that day. It will likely be quite cool in the morning. Its best to dress in layers according to how the day warms up. Wear shoes that can get wet and dirty on the park’s trails. Some trails are wet. Most trails are too difficult for children under 5 years of age, but a few trails are easy. If your young children attend, you must supervise them very carefully. Bathrooms are near the picnic area and also in the Nature Center. There are no bathrooms on the trails. Even if you are not wanting to hike, the Nature Center and the peaceful park setting provides for a very enjoyable fall experience!
