Come visit a beautiful, family farm just 25 minutes from campus. Relax on a Friday evening after a busy week and enjoy a break in the Illinois countryside! The Rice family has huge farm equipment that you can climb on to have your picture taken. Enjoy seeing farm animals which you will be able to feed. There will also be tours of the farm by riding on a wagon pulled by a tractor (“hay rack ride”). We will have picnic food for the evening meal – turkey hot dogs on an open fire, vegetarian options, desserts and more! The Rice’s will share some of their personal history and the story of the farm. Experience the harvest season in Illinois with this special invitation from the Rice family!
Bring a jacket as we will be outdoors and temperatures can get quite cool on a late September evening. We will let you know if rain becomes an issue. If so, Saturday, September 30th is the backup rain date for rescheduling the event.
