DUE TO THE HOT WEATHER THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 16TH, WE ARE GOING TO VISIT THE FAIR LATER IN THE DAY AND INTO THE EVENING WHEN THINGS ARE A BIT COOLER. WE WILL PICK UP PASSENGERS BETWEEN 12:30 – 1:00 AND LEAVE CHAMPAIGN AT 1:00. WE HOPE TO LEAVE THE FAIR AT 8:45 PM AND RETURN TO URBANA AT ABOUT 10:15 PM. YOU MIGHT WANT TO BRING A WATER BOTTLE AND A SMALL UMBRELLA FOR SUN.
Join IFI as we enjoy a day at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield! There is so much to see and do there!
In addition to thrilling carnival rides and a wide array of tasty State Fair foods, you will find many exciting attractions to explore and interact with. Get up close to magnificent giant draft horses, see a circus under the big tent, watch amazing dogs do their tricks, take in the judging of the State’s best farm animals, discover nature’s wonders in Conservation World, witness daring high-diving feats, listen to a variety of musical performances and check out a life-sized dairy cow made completely of butter! This will truly be an Illinois cultural experience! Adults and children alike will find a day full of entertainment and interactive experiences!
Transportation will be provided by IFI. Seats are limited, so sign up now if you are sure that you will attend. The cost for IFI transportation and State Fair admission for adults and children 13 and above is $15. IFI transportation and admission for children 12 and under is $5 (cash only, no digital payments, please). Take extra cash for fair food lunch, carnival rides and souvenirs, etc. Those willing to drive their own cars will just pay for their own admission at the fair. IFI will provide some late afternoon snacks and bottled water. Transportation details and weather considerations will be emailed to you the evening before the event. Please supply your own car seats or boosters for children needing that if using IFI transportation.
